Portfolio

My portfolio is under re-construction and does feature a few year gap during which I’ve no major design work to share. I am currently working on expanding it. If you don’t see what you’re looking for, I may have an example of that sort of work that hasn’t been added yet, so please feel free to ask. I always want to remind portfolio viewers that, often, the choices made in my designs are made by my clients, and thus don’t always showcase my full talents, aesthetic wishes, or personal taste. In addition, once the site I design is turned over to a client, I don’t always have complete control over what happens to it…the customer is always right, after all. Sometimes site owners add things themselves, or hire designers as they go, and thus what a site I designed a year ago looks like now isn’t always something I had a hand in.

In Progress

A Few Pilot Car Websites

Thanks to my dad’s serious promotion of my work on his site, I’ve been working on a couple of other pilot car company websites. As these are still in progress and I haven’t the formal permission of site owners to talk about my work for them right now, the names of these sites is currently undisclosed. Wouldn’t want to steal the thunder of going live with a great new site, now would we?

HillCrestChoir.com

Hillcrest High School Choir

This one is going to get a total overhaul. We’ve worked on a logo idea that needs to be fleshed out, and the whole site needs an update. This is a volunteer project for my stepfather, the choir director at Hillcrest High School in Dallas. See more as the project progress.

AllAmericanPilotCarServices.com

This fluid, patriotic theme and custom Wordpress 2.3 installation and hacks provided my father with a turn-key type website. Not just a site, but a virtual office available to him on the road, even from his cell phone. From it, he can communicate with clients, maintain an online repository of downloadable documents, record his travels and map them, upload his photos from the road, offer clients private information not available to the public, and much more. Some of My Clients Wish to Share My Work for Them by Request Only

And I respect their wishes. But I do have two other recent projects which you are welcome to request a link to; the site owners simply didn’t want to be cross linked publicly due to the nature of the content on their sites, which may be objectionable to some viewers (these are not sexually oriented sites but may contain sexual or otherwise explicit content). To request a link to both the site, and my project page for it, simply email me…I’ll be happy to send it right away.

A Simple Personal Blog

One site you may request a link to view is a simple blog using WordPress and an urban, grungy custom theme. The theme is based on some digital manipulation of personal photographs of the site owner, and I made use of several plugins to enhance the site’s privacy and security, as well as provide a number of methods for publishing and for viewing statistics. In addition, I assist this site owner with developing a portfolio of publications available on-demand and related online payments; which will at some future point be integrated into the site. Request a link to this site and my project page for it..

An Essay Based Site with Custom Features

Another recent/ongoing project you may request a link to privately for is very comprehensive, and I have a page for detailing all that is involved, available upon request. The website includes an eCard system, a modification of the WordPress system to make this installation ‘page’ instead of ‘post’ based, and a very unique and artsy custom theme. This project also involves on-demand product sales via CafePress, custom logo and graphics work, and one on one WordPress training. Request a link to this site and my project page for it.

Other Work

I like to make all of my (with permissions) portfolio work available, even if it’s old or no longer in use, because I feel it shows my progression over time as a designer, and lets me show as many of my skills as possible. I’m in the process of adding my old portfolio here in the form of screen shots and local copies. Please check back soon for updates!
